The alexithymia community on Atypiklove

A space where alexithymia is not coldness to correct: a community can talk about it without demanding a rich emotional vocabulary.

Alexithymia often means difficulty identifying and putting emotions into words, with thinking more turned toward the concrete. It is not a diagnosis on its own, and it is not an absence of feeling.

On Atypiklove, you can list alexithymia on your profile and explain what it means in your life. Another person concerned may understand part of the experience while still having a different style, pace and needs.

This community brings together people who use the term for friendship, dating or conversation. Nobody has to apologize for a trait, but clear explanations still help people understand one another.

Adult alexithymia: connection without translating on the other person's behalf

A factual message is not necessarily a rejection. Asking the other person to "feel better" helps no more than forcing a vocabulary. Alexithymia is common across several ways of functioning, including autism, without belonging to it alone.

To go further, visit the alexithymia dating space, the alexithymia page or the neurodivergent community. Members may list one or several ways of functioning, each still understood individually.
