What the site is
Atypiklove is not a catalogue of labels.
It is a dating site for people whose way of functioning sits outside the usual frame: ADHD, autism, giftedness, high sensitivity and many others. You sign up with a profile, look for someone, write to them. What is put first is romantic. There is a community too, but it comes second.
The aim is to connect atypical people all over the world. The site is already published in 29 languages.
No diagnosis is required. Anyone can say how they function, or say nothing about it. Neurodivergence can appear on a profile, it is not the only subject. People come first to meet a person.
People arrive with a bio, interests, a way of being. Neurodivergence helps us understand each other, including when it took years to find the words. It does not replace the person.
Free to use, with credits
Atypiklove is meant to stay usable without paying.
To limit the flood of fake profiles, interactions run on a daily credit system inspired by video games: Emeric is a geek, and that is the model he knew, especially mobile games. Every day, credits are given to spend on interacting.
The subscriptions some people take to speed things up mostly go toward server costs, moderation, and the rest. Like any company, the aim is also to make a little profit: especially after a year of hard work to build this site, and everyday work to keep it running.

Who created Atypiklove
Emeric Mathis, 34, is a freelance web developer.
He built Atypiklove in the mornings, evenings and weekends, alongside factory temp work and freelance web development jobs for clients.
He is atypical himself, diagnosed as an adult. He built Atypiklove as a dating site, without asking for a medical file. There is community content too, but the choice was to put dating first: the site's name makes that fairly clear. Other sites already offer atypical communities. Atypiklove is not meant to replace them, only to sit alongside them.
No atypism is required to sign up. You can come as an atypical person, or to meet one. It is a space of tolerance and kindness: any toxicity is removed at once, and the authors are banned. Moderation is meant to be strict, to keep a peaceful space for the most vulnerable people.

I looked for a long time for a dating site built for atypical people. The other sites were very good at what they were: friend communities. I wanted a place built around romantic dating. So I built the one I would have wanted to find.
This is not "ADHD seeks autism". People arrive with a bio, tastes, a way of being. Neurodivergence describes a way of functioning. It helps you find someone who functions like you, or not. It does not replace the person.
This is not a site only for neurodivergent people. You can also come to meet them. Checking an atypism is not required: you sign up as you are.
Like many people of my generation, I had to fight hard to get diagnosed as an adult. For years I did not understand why I functioned differently. It showed up in messages, first dates, conversations that stalled. I wanted a site where I would not have to hide it, and where no one would ask me for a medical file to believe me.
The credit system comes from video games. I borrowed it because I thought it was a shame such a practical system did not exist yet: everyone can use the site for free, and the people in a hurry who pay help to fund it.
