OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) often involves obsessions, compulsions or both. It can take time, energy and shame, but no ritual describes everyone. Liking order or cleanliness is not OCD.
On Atypiklove, you can list OCD on your profile and explain what it means in your life. Another person with OCD may understand part of the experience while still having different themes, treatment and boundaries.
This community brings together people who use the term for friendship, dating or conversation. Nobody has to apologize for a diagnosis, but clear explanations still help people understand one another.
Adult OCD: connection without justifying everything
Presentations vary: contamination, checking, symmetry, taboo thoughts, sometimes hoarding. Sharing the same word does not guarantee compatibility. An intrusive thought is not an intention, and a ritual is not proof of love.
To go further, visit the OCD dating space, the OCD page or the neurodivergent community. Members may list one or several ways of functioning, each still understood individually.
